How to change Mac address in Android without root.

Hello guys, In this tutorial, I will guide you to change the mac address in android without root. Changing mac address or spoofing requires you to root the phone in most of the cases but in some processors tis can be done easily.

First of all, What is mac address?

Mac stands for media access controller which is unique id for each device and it is verified while you're connecting to the wifi network or the internet.

Changing of mac address means you are removing unique id and giving user defined id to the device which can be helpful if you can connect to the wifi network even if you know the password or has someone has blocked in you in the network.

Disclaimer:

Spoofing or changing mac address is a offense and if the user gets to know about you, This could get you in trouble so do it at your own risk.

Caution:

Before using this mthod please backup your original mac address if you want to revert it back to the original one.

Note:

This method only works on phones which have MTK processors.

This method doesnot work on other phone processor.

Method:

Backup the Original Mac Address:

Backup your original mac address by going to settings,Click on about phone and check your mac address and note it down.

Opening the Phone app:

Go to Home screen and tap on Phone app.

Entering the Secret Code:

Open the dial pad and type the code

Code:

*#*#3646633#*#*

After you press last * in the code it will redirect to engineer mode.

Configuring Engineer Mode:

Swipe right and go the connectivity option and before selecting the WLAN option, Turn wifi off.

Select WLAN option and wait for the initialization to complete.

After initialization process is completed, Select NVRAM option.

Configuring NVRAM:

In NVRAM option,go below and enter following region with this number.

Byte String Access
addr(h,byte) => 4
length(byte) => 6

Under the value(h) region remove the existing character and type your own mac address without using colon, It should follow the rules of mac address for character placing so if you type random characters or misplace any character in mac address this method is going to fail.So make sure you have type the correct mac address.

After typing your mac address,Tap on Write button multiple times and then on Read button.

Checking the Modified Mac Address:

Go to the home screen and if you want to reboot you can reboot the phone or just open the settings, Click on about phone option and before checking the mac address just turn off and then turn on and now check the mac address which should be changed.
